Why we take the approach we do

Do you know that the term freelancer was originally used to describe a knight who was not aligned with any one kingdom, but would offer his services to anyone willing to pay for them? A mercenary, in other words.

The freelancers of today operate much the same way. Those of us who write for a living make our services available to anyone willing to pay for them. Many companies prefer hiring freelancers and often advertise for them.

There are many advantages of hiring a freelance writer. In many ways, it can be cheaper than adding extra staff and a company hiring a freelance writer may save, in the long term, because they won't have to provide office space or spend huge amounts of money on benefits packages.

There are various types of freelance writers.

Some freelancers are regular contributors to newspapers, magazines and/or websites. They like the fact they have a regular outlet publishing what they write. While others prefer to submit material to various outlets. They like the freedom and variety of working for multiple outlets. Others, still, market themselves, using social media say, and make themselves available to be contracted out.

It's a mercenary lifestyle to be sure.

Regardless of the approach, we believe we have to immerse ourselves in whatever we are writing no matter who the client is. It's about being thorough, checking and re-checking sources and writing tight and concise copy. Journalistic integrity basically. That, in fact, is what we are all about at Duarte Communications. Of course, we have our areas of expertise. The automotive, entertainment and sports sectors are where most of our experience is located, but we don't limit ourselves to those boundaries or domains. We approach each and every article we write with passion. We deliver the best possible story to our clients efficiently and professionally.

We don't offer compromises.

We don't take shortcuts.

Why such an approach?

Because it matters.
